Fearless words spoken from the heart grabs my attention like no other. Calmness washes over me as I think to myself; Spirit is inspiring this person. There does not seem to be any ego attachment to being admired or to forcing others into being in agreement of their views. The raw honest expression of helpful truths put out into the world to be, hopefully, embraced seems to be what the speaker intends. Goose bumps on my arms help me to know the importance of the moment.
Gentleness is trait number four listed in the book A Course in Miracles which reveals the ten characteristics of advanced teachers of God. This book of wisdom is my spiritual path that has guided me throughout this lifetime. I’ll list the entire ten characteristics here in case you were wondering what they are: trust, honesty, tolerance, gentleness, joy, defenselessness, generosity, patience, faithfulness, open-mindedness.
How to foster gentleness within yourself? I suggest connecting with nature and practicing being present. The deer that are so prevalent near my home have taught me much about this. Here is an excerpt from my book Waves of Light that gives the messages I received from deer ~ one of the most tender animals I know.
Waves of Light ~ Messages From Deer
It is gentleness we teach, and to be fully engaged in the joy of being. Use all of your five senses to be present to the life that is given. We watch the flowers as they burst into bloom with their fragrant enveloping charisma. We listen as water bubbles over the rocks on her merry journey to the lake. The grit along the stems of plant life brings a full palate of flavor to our experience as we devour shrubs with a conjoining of energy. We feel the touch of the Earth’s breath as we engage in life throughout the days and nights.
Follow our example and live in peace. Have sensory experiences with all of nature, love deeply and let go of that which is not love when it arises. Turn back to the Source of creation. Remember that this Source exists within the body at all times; until the body dissolves and we once again know each other in Spirit ~ our true form.

Through the mouth of Deer

Enjoy life. Feel the life flow within you by connecting through the senses. Spirit essence emanates to others on silent waves of love. Gentleness and beauty are gifts from God!
Other methods I recommend for getting in touch with the gentleness of your being, involves quieting the mind. Here are two ways I use to enter into meditative states.
- Focus on your third eye (middle of your forehead) and repeat the word light. The pineal endocrine gland is in the middle of your brain. It is pineapple shaped and when it lights up, it connects us with our Spirit (eternal Self which is always connected with Source).
- Focus on your heart center (middle of your chest) and repeat the word love. Sometimes it helps to visualize your nose melting off your face and landing in the middle of your chest. Breathe in love, breathe out love ~ feel the bliss.
May everyone experience the gentleness of love and light, and emanate it outwards to all of existence. Let’s pay attention to leaders who cultivate the spiritual quality of gentleness in their approach to serve our planet and all who live here. This is how our world changes to a place of peace, beauty and radiant health!
