I’m sending you a love letter because I want you to know that I have been thinking about you a lot.
I don’t know who you are or what your story is. I only know that you must have been in excruciating pain. For who jumps from the twelfth (was it more?) story of a building at ten in the morning? The clouds were thick that day. My heart breaks for you.
Minutes after you left us I happened to walk by with my family. We were spending some vacation time in New Orleans. I was holding the hand of my eight-year old granddaughter, and for that reason I walked briskly on by. Thankfully, she chattered happily as I shielded her from baring witness to your torment. I want you to know, that if not for that, I would have stayed close. I would have sent you waves and waves of love as you made your way home with the angels.
I send you those waves now and often. Though I only glimpsed your physical being briefly, it was your blue jeans and tennis shoes that stuck out in my mind ~ apparel that we all wear. Innocent and sweet is how I’ll always remember you.
So I want you to know that no matter what you’ve been through, no matter what you did or did not do ~ I love you and I will forever be grateful to you. You will be my reminder to always be kind and to try to help others ~ for I just don’t know how much inner despair someone may be hiding within. This is my pledge now and forever.
May we all endeavor to take good care of each other and let the blessings become a tidal wave of love that spreads around the globe!
Be at peace now dear one. May many loving angels give you nurturing compassion. May the past be wiped from your brow as you are held close to the heart of our Creator.
Peace to you ~ Peace to all.
