True Ghost Stories ~ Whatcha gonna do?

The autumn air turns crisp and colors present their intensity across the skyline reminding us we are never really alone. Spirits past, present, and future cross our paths, albeit barely noticeable within the threads of a veil that at times shines through the mist.

I love all the ethereal energy that shows itself ~ whether it be loving angels, lost souls, or yes, even the malevolent beings who try to scare the jeepers out of us.

It’s that time of year for a few ghost stories, don’t you think?

My rosy cheeked son came running up the hill from the gully across the street from our home with a pack of other eight-year-old boys in tow. Ryan wore the look of Dennis the Menace back in the day, complete with the cowlick and three freckles on his nose, and there was lots of playful energy popping around that could easily wear me out. But, who could say no to a spontaneous sleepover with all those hopeful eyes looking at me?

The next morning, after all the pizza boxes and other garbage was removed from his room, there remained a very swampy odor in the room. I recruited my husband to help get to the source of the offensive smell. We washed bed sheets and clothes, cleaned the floor and furniture, and even wiped down the walls, but there was no relief. Even Ryan proclaimed that his room stunk. I started to have doubts that those sweaty little boys could produce that much reeking stench.

When everyone was gone, I sat down on Ryan’s bed, and said out loud, “Who’s here?” A raggedy little boy presented himself and timidly said, “I really like the boys. Do you think they’ll let me join their gang?” My heart melted. I told him that of course they would like that, and then I asked him if he remembered the time when he lost his body. His eyes looked surprised and he sadly shook his head up and down. The room then filled with angels and I asked him if he could see them. Another affirmative nod. I told him they loved him very much and would help him go to a place where he would be loved and taken care of. And just like that they all disappeared, and so did the odor.

When my husband came home, I called him into Ryan’s bedroom and he took a big whiff. “You found the problem,” he said, “What was it?” So, I told him. “Ah,” was all he said with a skeptical twinkle in his eye.

Sometimes, when a person has a sudden or traumatic death, they get temporarily confused, or are too afraid to move into the light. With a little understanding and guidance, most of these souls easily get their journey back on track.

During the course of my energy work practice, sometimes deceased relatives or friends would show-up in a session. Two reasons stand out to me. They either want to give love and reassurance to my client, or they want to use the opportunity to apologize for any harm caused by them when they had a physical existence. Getting closure works to everyone’s advantage and clears energetic bonds that need to be let go of. I do believe that when a person’s physical body dies, that their learning and development continues on in other realms of existence. They are not likely to hover around, because they are getting on with their lives too. We can still send them loving thoughts and energy whenever inspired to do so, and they just may pay us a visit on occasion.

There is another type of spirit that is probably what comes to mind when we think of the word, ghost. These are souls/spirits that have likely lived a less than stellar human existence and refused to go to the light when their body died. Most are just afraid of punishment, but some just enjoy carrying out malevolent acts. On rare occasions they attach themselves to other people’s energy fields. Sometimes it happens because they want to enjoy the same addiction or actions that are being taken by the person that they have attached themselves to. I have come across this type of spirit energy and, though it is unpleasant, there is absolutely nothing to fear. Thanks to the excellent energy work and hypnosis training I received, I have had success in helping these souls look for the light spark within their own heart chakra and feel love there. From that point on it is just a matter of convincing them that they’d be better off going with the angels to get the help they need.

One time, a particularly resistant soul, who had attached himself to a young man, left my office in such an angry state that it blew out my electrical and phone lines. Even though he refused to go with the angels, I had pointed out that it was my client’s free will choice that he immediately leave his energy field. So that soul had no choice other than to go as per cosmic law. After he left, my client admitted to me that he had invited the spirit in because he was lonely and dealing with painful sexuality issues. I told him that in order to keep the ghost away, he had to deal with his issues in healthier ways. I suggested it was time for him to honestly address his sexual orientation, even if it meant being estranged from family who wouldn’t accept him. I tried to assure him that the more he could lovingly care for his own needs, the better chance he would have to meet people who accepted him as he is.

Let me repeat, that it is very rare for someone who has passed to act in such a menacing manner. Love is the only answer when it comes to communicating with all disincarnate beings. I don’t know the story behind what caused such anger in the soul who detached from my client, but I do believe he needs love too in order to get back to having the loving existence he was created to be. I pray he experiences that.

Life goes on after death. Unless someone is visiting us from the other side in a loving way, we should remember to surround ourselves in light and call upon loving angels to assist us when visited by spirits. Call upon Archangels Michael and Faith to be with you. They are especially helpful in this regard. Protection, and assistance with guiding confused spirits to move forward is their specialty. If you don’t feel comfortable conversing with a ghost (and most people are not) just tell them to go and stay with loving feelings in your heart. Focus your mind with thoughts of angels.

Well, it is almost Halloween and I do encourage everyone to have some fun. Send blessings to your loved ones on the other side and to all the ghosts roaming around! May loving spirits surround you!
